The Surprising Uses for Pigs
When you think about a pig, you probably picture bacon for
breakfast or a holiday ham. But pigs are much more than a simple
food source. Did you know that a single pig can provide materials
for nearly 200 different products?
Researcher and designer, Christien Meindertsma, discovered that
the various parts of one hog are used in 185 distinct products.
Ammunition, medicine, photo paper, heart valves, brakes, chewing
gum, porcelain, cosmetics, cigarettes, hair conditioner and bio
diesel are just a few products made possible by pigs.
