Smithfield Commitments

For the past 8 years, we have published an annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. It allows us to reflect on the past year and show the public how successful we were in achieving our targets in the areas of environmental and community impacts, animal welfare, employee relations, and food safety and quality. The annual report offers increasingly greater transparency and confirms our ongoing dedication to become more than just a pork producer, but a responsible global citizen.

Because we are committed to constant improvement and increasing transparency, we have decided to move the bulk of this report online, to a new website called Our Commitments. This site will not only house our annual CSR Report material, but will also give more frequent updates on what each of our subsidiary companies are doing in the area of sustainability and CSR.

Because the site will be updated regularly, individual subsidiaries now have the opportunity to highlight their programs via this site. If your company has a newsworthy CSR event you would like posted on the site, please send information to Kathleen Kirkham at kathleenkirkham@smithfieldfoods.com. We are hoping the site will be a valuable asset for employees, customers, and consumers.
